Blepharoplasty (2 eyelids)
Blepharoplasty is surgery to correct the fatty bags that appear in the upper and lower eyelids over time, giving a tired, aged appearance.
Blepharoplasty can be done alone or combined with other treatments such as facelift.
The procedure involves removing excess fat and skin accumulated on the eyelids. Through small incisions, skin and fat excess is removed. Blepharoplasty is usually performed on an outpatient basis with local anesthesia and sedation. Usually lasts 1-3 hours.
BEFORE THE PROCEDURE:
Patients should undergo a preliminary analysis in which their specific needs are valued. They must undergo a pre-operative standard process that includes blood tests, electrocardiogram, etc.
AFTER THE PROCEDURE:
After surgery the eye area will be swollen. Hematomas, excessive tearing, photosensitivity and other sequelae such as blurred vision may occur but they will gradually fade.
The sutures are removed within 3-6 days. After the third day patients can recover activities like reading or watching TV. Patients should maintain relative rest for 3-5 days, and avoid strenuous activity and the use of contact lenses for the first 3 weeks.
It is recommended not to work for about 10 days and not to wear contact lenses for the first two or three weeks.
